This part can be fused to the N-terminus of proteins to be imported into the peroxisomal membrane. It originates from Saccharomyces cerevisiae Pex3 protein, which is peroxisomal membrane protein involved in the integration of other proteins into the peroxisomal membrane. The protein harbors a mPTS sequence that is used by other proteins to guide the fused protein to the membrane and then integrate it.
